Illinois College is a private, liberal arts college in Jacksonville, which is a city in the US state of Illinois, serving as the county seat of Morgan County, with a population estimated at a number of nearly 19 000, during the 2000 census.
Illinois College was founded in 1829, being the 2nd college founded in the state and the 1st to grant a degree, which happened in 1835. It became co-ed in 1903 and briefly served as the state's first medical school from 1843-1848. It currently offers its students majors and minors in a vast array of study areas, including combined degree programs - 3-2 combined degree in engineering and occupational therapy, and 3-1 combined degree, in cytotechnology and medical technology.
Illinois' athletic teams are known as the Blueboys and Lady Blues, and they compete in NCAA Division III. Their distinctive colors are blue and white.
